Understanding the methods of breast reduction surgery or mammoplasty is very important. Especially if you or someone you know is considering breast reduction surgery in Delhi, you need to have all the facts.

Acquiring facts also involves dispelling common myths. For example, the myth that mammoplasty is excessively painful or a woman cannot breastfeed after mammoplasty. Both these claims are false.

Similarly, there is a common misconception that liposuction is the best method for breast reduction surgery in Delhi. This is a claim we want to discuss today.

How is Breast Reduction Achieved?

The common belief is that mammoplasty involves removing excess fat. Now, this is certainly not false. Liposuction, which targets stubborn fat in the body, can make the breasts smaller.

The problem here is that liposuction only targets fat. Removing only fat creates breasts that look like deflated balloons. If the reason you want your breasts reduced is that they sag and look bad, liposuction alone makes them look worse.

On the other hand, liposuction technology may be used to remove excess breast gland. Depending on the extent of reduction, the breast gland also needs to be removed and reshaped. This is why mammoplasty is often combined with mastopexy or a breast lift. The nipple and areola are made to point upwards, and any excess skin is removed. This ensures a much nicer, more curvy, and better-looking breast. The resulting silhouette is very desirable.

For male breast reduction i.e., Gynecomastia treatment, liposuction tools are used to remove the breast gland altogether. This creates a flat, toned chest and gives them the confidence to walk out shirtless.

Is Liposuction Safe?

Liposuction today is very safe. With the introduction of machines like MicroAire and VASER, the procedures are extremely precise with minimal trauma. These machines engage in power-assisted and ultrasound-assisted liposuction, respectively. They also make a recovery very comfortable.

While there always will be the possibility of complications in surgery, the expertise of your surgeon can minimise this risk. With such technology, which uses a blunt cannula that does not pierce deeper than it should, the risk is indeed very low.

Therefore, using liposuction alone for breast reduction surgery is not undesirable because it is unsafe. It is undesirable because it produces unnatural results. This is what every patient must understand before undergoing mammoplasty through liposuction. This way, they ensure the ideal results for themselves.
